And the Grassi Museum for Musical Instruments is staging a celebration of English vocal music
Organised by the Leipzig University Departments of English and Music Sumer Is Icumen In – Again will present a programme of English vocal music, song and prose from the 8th to 18th century featuring the likes of Händel, Dowland and Purcell.
A highlight of the evening promises to be a premier of a new version of Beowulf by the Portuguese composer Manuel Durão.
Sumer Is Icumen In – Again takes place in the Grassi Museum for Musical Instruments Zimeliensaal on Friday July 12th 2013 at 6pm
