With the renovation of the Leipzig Grassi Museum buildings nearing completion attention turns to the grounds: in particular the “recreation” of the former Japanese Garden.
Originally to be found in the northern courtyard the Japanese Garden was a geometric structured landscape complemented with lights and pagodas.
The new Japanese Garden is intended to be a contemporary location that reflects both its historic origins as well as the current exhibitions in the Grassi museums.
As part of the fundraising for the new garden a benefit concert is being held on the evening of Friday May 31st 2013. Promising a mix of free-jazz, baroque dance and cinema organ in addition to spoken word and performance the evening promises a little something for everyone.
The Benefit Concert for the new Grassi Museum Japanese Garden takes place on 31.05 at 7pm. Entry costs Euro 3,00
