Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig: Festakt 125th Anniversary Grassistraße 8

Established in 1843 by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig is Germany’s oldest music college – and on December 5th 2012 celebrates the 125th anniversary of the opening of its oldest original, remaining, building Grassistraße 8

To mark the occasion a Festakt will be held on Saturday December 8th in the Großer Saal, Grassistraße 8.

In addition to a commemorative speech by Dr. Wolfgang Hocquél, CEO the Kulturstiftung Leipzig and a varied musical programme performed by HMT students the evening also sees the official opening an exhibition devoted to the college, but for all Grassistraße 8

The Festakt to 125th Anniversary Grassistraße 8 takes place on Saturday December 8th at 11am.
