GRASSI Museum für Völkerkunde zu Leipzig: Pro Community – Warlayirti Artists

Continuing on from the 2010 and 2011 “Pro Community” exhibitions the Grassi Leipzig Ethnography Museum is currently showing an exhibition of contemporary aboriginal art from artists associated with the Warlayirti Art Centre in Halls Creek, a remote community in the north of the state of Western Australia.

Curated by the Freiburg gallery Artkelch “Pro Community – Warlayirti Artists” features 30 works by 14 artists and as with the previous  “Pro Community” exhibtions presents a range of both traditional and more modern, experimental, interpretations of aboriginal art and cultural expression in general.

Pro Community – Warlayirti Artists can be viewed at the Grassi Leipzig Ethnography Museum until August 26th 2012
