Between Christmas and New Year the Grassi Museum for Musical Instruments is presenting three chances to experience their historical cinema organ in action.
On 29.12 and 30.12 the Museum will be showing Ernst Lubitsch’s 1919 silent film classic “The Oyster Princess” (Die Austernprinzessin) – accompanied by Jürgen Kurz on the organ.
And at 3pm on December 30th the museum is hosting a family afternoon special. Under the title “Intoned Images” (Tönende Bilder) the show features a selection of silent film clips accompanied by Sabine Heller on the museum’s organ. In addition the programme features a musical tram ride through 1930s Leipzig.
