The 2011 Leipzig Buchmesse season at the Grassi Museum opens not with a reading – but with an exhibition of works by Paderborn based artist Natalia Schäfer for the calendar and greetings card producer Korsch.
For let us not forget – the publishing world is not just books!
Experimental in her approach to art Natalia Schäfer regularly combines structural elements and metallic pigments in her work to create not only modern interpretations of traditional art but also works that – both literally and metaphorically – dominate the space around them.
Together with Korsch Verlag Natalia Schäfer won the Gold Medal at the 2011 Stuttgart Calendar Show for the calendar “Silver & Gold” – and for 2012 the two have teamed up to produce “Nature & Culture” a calendar featuring a series of images inspired by, for example, Australian and African heritage and fauna.
The Buchmesse exhibition in the foyer of the Grassi Museum features a range of original works by Natalia Schäfer as well as examples of her cooperation with Korsch Verlag.
