On Friday evening the winners of the International Marianne Brandt Contest 2010 were announced at an Awards Ceremony in the Chemnitz Oper.
First staged in 2001 the Marianne Brandt Contest seeks to award the those designers and photographers under 40 who best embody the spirit of Marianne Brandt.
Under the motto “The Poetry of the Functional” entries can be submitted in the fields of product design, photography and a changing “guest” category – this year “Light in public places”
Some 410 submissions from 12 countries were received for the International Marianne Brandt Contest 2010 from which three main prize winners and numerous special prizes were awarded.
The exhibition to accompany the awards can be viewed at the Industrial Museum Chemnitz until October 10th.
A smaller exhibition featuring the winning entries will be displayed as part of Designers Open in Leipzig from October 29-31 (Grassi Messe Weekend)
